SiC1893 Jewelry Care Instructions
Your SiC1893 jewelry is crafted with sterling silver, plated with high-quality platinum or 10K gold, and features beautiful lab grown diamonds. Proper care will ensure the longevity and brilliance of your pieces.
Daily Wear & Prevention
- Avoid Contact: Always remove your jewelry before showering, swimming (especially in chlorine or salt water), or engaging in vigorous activities.
- Chemical Exposure: Avoid direct contact with household chemicals, perfumes, hairspray, lotions, or cosmetics. Chemicals are the primary cause of plating erosion and can dull the diamonds.
- Last On, First Off: Put your jewelry on after applying makeup, perfume, and hair products. Take it off before bed or any activity that could cause friction or impact.
- Protect the Plating: Plated jewelry requires gentle handling. Excessive friction or rubbing will cause the silver base layer to show through over time.
Cleaning Instructions
Cleaning your jewelry regularly is simple and safe with these methods:
- Gentle Soak: Fill a small bowl with lukewarm water and a few drops of mild dish soap (non-detergent).
- Soak: Let the jewelry soak for no more than 10-15 minutes.
- Soft Cleaning: Gently brush the setting, particularly around the lab-grown diamonds, using a soft-bristled toothbrush (like a baby’s toothbrush) to remove built-up dirt and oil.
- Rinse: Rinse the piece thoroughly under clean, lukewarm running water.
- Dry: Pat the jewelry completely dry immediately using a soft, lint-free cloth or a microfiber towel. Never air-dry, as this can lead to water spots or mineral buildup on the metal.
Storage
- Dry and Cool: Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Separate: To prevent scratching the plating or the diamonds, store each piece individually, ideally in a jewelry box or the original SiC1893 pouch, keeping it separate from other metals.
Important Note
The platinum and 10K gold plating is a durable finish, but it is not permanent. Over time and with wear, replating may be necessary to restore the original finish. This is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered under warranty. Following these care instructions will maximise the life of the plating.
